LA RIots
On August 11, 1965, only five days after president Johnson signed the voting Rights Act into law, one of the worst race riots in the nation's history raged through the streets of Watts, a neighborhood in Los Angeles. Thirty four people were killed, and a lot of property was destroyed. The next year saw more racial disturbances, and riots and violence took place in hundreds of cities.
